a Part of National Esteemed Woman Week
your
invitation!
What
is Esteemed Woman Week?
Self-esteem
affects relationships, careers, health, and well-being. Without
a healthy sense of self-worth women limit their ability to feel
fulfilled in every aspect of life. Esteemed Woman Week provides
a national forum for women to take the first steps to empowerment
through the exploration and discussion of their personal self-esteem
journeys.
With
esteem building workshops, house
parties, film viewings, Esteemed Woman Week will give women
the opportunity to join together in a safe environment and take
inspiration from each other in building their self-image.
When
and where will Esteemed Woman Week be held?
In
September 23, 2000, Esteemed Woman Week events will take place all
across the country in homes, community centers, and schools. You
are invited to host an event anywhere in your area joining in a
nationwide network of Esteemed Woman Week programs. You can:
- Hold
a program at your women's club or book group
- Celebrate
the week with your yoga, exercise or women's studies class
- Register
your activity or find one with our online directory of activities
In
Washington, D.C., Esteemed Woman Week we will kick off with
the world premiere of our new film, "I Am My Mother's Daughter",
a one-hour documentary highlighting the complex bond between mothers
and daughters and the profound effect this relationship has on our
self-image, at the 'Salute to Women' Symposium hosted by Eckerd
Drugs.
